Volunteer Registration for San Diego Comic-Con 2012 is now available! Odds are that if you have your Member ID already, you should have already gotten this news by email. For those who haven’t, I can’t stress enough how important it is to get your Member ID right now! There is no cost in doing so and you’re not required to buy a ticket if it turns out that you can’t go.
If you’re a returning volunteer or a newbie, the time is now to get your reservation locked up. Volunteer slots will fill up quickly. This is for dedicated folks only! If you think this is a free ride to Comic-Con and you think you can just blow off your duties to cruise around the Exhibition Hall or hide away in Hall H all week, don’t bother signing up. The Comic-Con volunteers (the good ones) take their roles in making Comic-Con great very seriously. But they know how to have a good time too. As with anything, go in with a good mindset and a willingness to give your all and you’ll get a lot more back. Volunteers I’ve spoken to over the years tend to be lifers and they wouldn’t do San Diego Comic-Con any other way. If you’re interested and you’re willing to do some occasional not so glamorous work (not everyone gets to bodyguard Nathan Fillion or Jessica Alba autograph signings), take a shot at being a volunteer this year!
